thomas james hayler, aged 8 hours

Ladies and gentlemen, Radio Free Midwich is delighted to announce our most ambitious new release to date.

Our first child, Thomas James Hayler, was born at 12.27pm on Saturday 9th March 2013 weighing 7lbs and 12oz.  Mother and baby both doing very well.  I could not be more proud of my wonderful wife Anne, who dealt with the staggering logistics of birth with stoicism and good humour – what a woman!  Nor could I be happier at this life changing event (I am writing this at ridiculous-o’clock the following morning, unable to sleep due to being delirious with excitement).  The kindness and professionalism of all at Leeds General Infirmary was exemplary.  God bless the NHS.

Many thanks for the congratulations we have already received from those that were following the pre-release hype and thus got the news as it broke.  It means a lot to us.

I am now a father.  Blimey!
