Before

After

Yes, at 4pm on Saturday 24th April 2010 I married my beloved Anne.   The day was a huge success.  The service at St. Matthews was universally considered ‘lovely’.  The weather was warm, dry and bright – a triple combo rarely experienced in Yorkshire.  The Mustard Pot, our reception venue, did us proud with wonderful food, copious drink and seamless arrangements.  Anne was so, so beautiful and I experienced a rare moment of triumph by nailing my speech.  The celebrating continued ’til 1am.

Sunday was spent nursing a hangover, opening cards and presents, and crying.  We were enormously touched and humbled by the generosity shown to us in these tough times.  A mini-honeymoon at a plush B&B in Northumberland helped calm us a bit but I suspect the comedown from such an emotional experience will take a while.  A buzzy tiredness is enveloping me like Pigpen’s cloud of dust.  Anne likewise.

Some photos are already up online here.  You’ll need a snapfish account to see them but registering is a painless business.  These were taken by Anne’s friend Sharon, and so focus on that group of friends, but they give a really good impression of the day.

Heartfelt thanks from us both to everyone involved.  We couldn’t be happier.
